It’s been eight days since our last Premier League game – personally I’m chomping at the bit and can’t wait for kick off. But what is the local Bournemouth press and AFCB social media saying about this evening’s game?

The main local media outlet covering the South Coast area of Dorset is the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

‘When Manchester City get it right, they are impossible to play against’

Loyal AFCB defender, Steve Cook believes Manchester City are at times ‘impossible to play against’ and insists Cherries must up their game against Pep Guardiola’s high-fliers.

Cook told the Daily Echo

‘Manchester City started the season unbelievably well and everyone thought Guardiola was going to bring them another title but everyone knows the Premier League isn’t easy to call.

‘It’s such a hard league that I don’t think there can be any criticisms of Guardiola because of the amount of titles and cups he has won. I’m sure, in time, he will get his hands on the Premier League.

‘With their quality and style of play, when Manchester City get it right, they are impossible to play against and we’re very aware of the way they want to play. It’s the best way to play football, in my opinion.

The 25-year-old continued…

‘Manchester City have top-quality players and it’s just a case of who plays because you can’t play every one of them. They have been able to bring in these players and they should have this amount of talent with the amount of money they have spent.

‘We have played against Manchester City three times in the Premier League and conceded a lot of goals so, hopefully, Monday is the day we stop that and get back to form.’

Staying with the Daily Echo, the next headline reads…

We can’t be fearful of City superstars, says Howe

‘I’ve been impressed (by Jesus),’ added Howe. ‘But they have other players who can turn a game in a second.

‘We respect their players but there`s no way we can be fearful or worried about any of them.

‘Manchester City have been outstanding against us – especially this season.

‘We aspire to be them, their style of play, how they line up tactically? everything about their performances is at the highest level.

‘Our challenge is to try to bridge that gap and get closer to them. This will be a good chance for us to see if we can do that.’
