Outstanding Harty Bags Windfall For Hometown Club

City and England Number One Joe Hart who was in dominant form again last night, this time in England’s 4-0 win over Bulgaria, has landed Shrewsbury Town £500,000…

A string of vital saves against the Bulgarians in his first full England competitive debut confirmed Harty as England’s first choice goalkeeper without a shadow of doubt.

One of four Manchester City stars to represent England last night, the sky is now the limit for the Shropshire born stopper.

Thanks to starting the game last night, Shrewsbury Town have netted half a million pounds from Manchester City.

Hart’s transfer to the then Stuart Pearce led Citizens from The Shrews on 22nd May 2006 for £600,000 had a clause in it which has now been triggered ensuring The Shrews benefit from an early season windfall.

Speaking before last night’s win, Harty said:

‘That will be huge for the club. It is huge money for a team like that and I am pleased for them.’

From the Conference with The Shrews to Wembley with England in six years. Not bad, not bad.
