Roger East – is he suitable?
Back in August, the 53-year-old official was removed of his Premier League and EFL status after failing to complete a pre-season fitness test.
All referees must meet a minimum level of fitness set by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited, and it is understood he failed to attend the fitness test, claiming he wasn’t feeling very well.
The only professional game he’s been involved in this season was on Saturday 15 September when he issued six yellow cards in the League One game between Peterborough and Portsmouth.
A referee can take the necessary test any time and so I would suggest Mr. East has recently passed the requirements.
Games involving Manchester City
The last time Roger officiated an MCFC game was on Saturday 21 October 2017 – City 3-0 Burnley.
On that occasion and out of a total of five cautions City’s Leroy Sane and Fernandinho were the ones to go into the ref’s naughty book.
