Paper Talk: Week 2

Welcome back to Paper Talk, the ongoing talk about the papers. See what I did there?

Well, it`s been an entire week and the Kolarov story is still going on and on and on and on. The story is not even worth a web link.

The equally frustrating transfer rumour regarding teenage sensation Mario Balotelli seems to be finally getting somewhere, with Milan president Moratti stating, “talks are ongoing”. This is indeed a confirmation of our interest, although his move is not a foregone conclusion. With Italian clubs seemingly squeezing City`s owners for every penny they can get, expect more hardball from Cook and Marwood, and an agonising wait.

Roy Hodgeson apparently wants Wayne Bridge, but a ‘source` has told ESPNsoccernet, “he is not for sale”, although then he went on to say that he might be available after all. The last time a source was this unreliable was when Daddies Source voted John Terry, ‘Dad of the Year`.

James Milner is back in the news again with City apparently raising their offer to £24m, while Martin O`Neill wants closer to £30m – possibly with Stephen Ireland thrown into the deal. A sausage dog would be able to give a more accurate valuation than Villa.

In other news, City continue to ruin football with their extensive charity work and new rooftop pitch in Harlem, New York. Ex-City man Albert Riera has joined Olympiakos after flopping at Liverpool (surprise, surprise), and Micah Richards continues with his enthralling diary.

All good things come to an end, and I leave you with the news report that Manchester United shirts have been banned in Malaysia. Apparently, the shirts are “un-Islamic”, as they depict the devil. Personally, I thought that they had already been banned in Manchester – the only shirts I`ve seen around are blue.
