Report: Club ‘keeping tabs’ on Man City player with ‘uncertain’ future

Benjamin Mendy has an ‘uncertain’ future at Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are ‘keeping tabs’ on his situation, say The Sun. The 26-year-old has fallen behind Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the pecking order and could be on his way out at the end of the season.

PSG have Juan Bernat, Layvin Kurzawa and Mitchel Bakker at their disposal, but Bernat has been injured all season, is out of contract this summer and could be on his way to Barcelona while Bakker hasn’t been nailing down a starting place. They could be in the market for a new left-back and Mendy might be available.

Not only does Pep Guardiola have Zinchenko and Cancelo who can operate at left-back, Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake are makeshift options too, so Mendy has stiff competition for playing time at City. The French international has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season but hasn’t made a Premier League appearance since December (Transfermarkt).

City have been on the hunt for a left-back for some time and have been linked with Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico, Bayern Munich’s David Alaba and Atalanta BC’s Robin Gosens.
