Pearce To ‘Educate’ Young Micah

Although City lost by the narrowest of margins ( once again !), I’m sure that the focus of the media will be on Micah Richard’s reaction to being substituted.

After the game Psycho said that he will deal with it in his own way and suggested that he will ‘educate’ Micah, probably in the same way as a sergeant-major laws down the law to a bunch of raw recruits.

Micah was obviously disappointed about being substituted and I can understand why. In a pretty average team performance, he was one of City’s better players, and like me, was probably amazed he was hauled off when the lakes of Reyna and Dabo had utterly anonymous games.

Trabelsi did come on for his debut at right back and looked the class act he is, but Micah is a very versatile player and instead of taking him off, Pearce should have taken Reyna off and pushed Richards up into midfield, where he is more than adequate ( as he has proved in reserve games).

I hope Pearce and the media don’t crucify the young lad. I think it’s a good thing when players are disappointed about being substituted. It shows the have the right attitude and desire to play, unlike some of our other ‘seasoned’ players who stroll around on the pitch and seem to welcome an early bath.

Keep it up Micah – show some passion, but maybe just tone it down a touch; you were dead right to be annoyed !

Psycho – go easy on him !
