Following on from the game against Leicester City last night, manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that Wilfried Bony and Yaya Toure are both struggling with a touch of fatigue at the moment.

With the game seeing a number of players rested, including Vincent Kompany, Pellegrini said Bony’s and Toure’s performances were far from classic on Wednesday evening but said he knew they were struggling following the African Cup of Nations exploits.

The press have him quoted as saying.

‘It was important for Bony to start the game from the beginning. He only played a couple of minutes in the last few games and he only just arrived from the African Cup of Nations, where they played a lot of games. I think Yaya is also feeling the pace of the games.’

Pellegrini goes on to say that for reasons of confidence and settling in, it would’ve been better had Bony been able to take one of his chances and open his Manchester City account but he remains confident that this will happen sooner rather than later.
