Manchester City have been linked with Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku as potential replacements for Sergio Aguero, but The Times say Pep Guardiola has added Lautaro Martinez to his ‘shortlist’.
The 23-year-old is coming off the back of a prolific campaign at Inter Milan and won the Serie A title, so it remains to be seen if he’ll really be lured away from the San Siro.

Martinez joined the Nerazzurri on a five-year deal from Racing Club and has gone on to make 130 appearances in all competitions, scoring 48 goals with 18 assists.
The Argentine international has hit double figures for Serie A goals in his last two seasons and is coming off the back of his most prolific campaign (36 games, 16 goals, 8 assists).
Martinez has more league goals than every City player, so he’d certainly improve the squad. Aguero will need replacing, so why not with a player that’s outscored the team?
The 23-year-old would normally be hard to attain with a £70m asking price and Serie A title winner, but Inter are struggling financially and may need to offload valuable assets to balance the books. Time will tell.
