Taylor Harwood-Bellis wasn’t at his best in Burnley’s 4-2 win over Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, arguably putting in one of his worst performances since joining from Manchester City, but the 20-year-old has been impressive at Turf Moor overall.
Harwood-Bellis joined Burnley on a season-long loan over the summer and looks a great acquisition. The England U21 international has been a regular under Vincent Kompany, missing just one minute of football in the Championship, so Pep Guardiola will be delighted with his development.

Harwood-Bellis has made 16 Championship appearances this campaign, scoring one goal with two assists. He’s been on the winning team seven times, has drawn eight games and has helped the Clarets to four clean sheets. Burnley have lost just one game in the league and have the third-best defensive record (15).
The 20-year-old will struggle for playing time back at Man City with Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Ake and John Stones for competition, but his form at Burnley won’t have gone unnoticed.
Supporters of the Clarets would like to see Harwood-Bellis join permanently, but time will tell what Guardiola has planned. He has two years remaining on his deal, so a decision will need to be made at the end of the season.
