According to a report from the Daily Star, England boss Gareth Southgate has been left fuming by Kyle Walker’s recent antics during lockdown – resulting in the Sky Blues defender losing his place in the international side for good.
Walker, who has since apologised for his raunchy behaviour in self-isolation, still hasn’t done enough to earn the faith of Southgate – with the former Middlesborough boss apparently kicking the 29-year-old out of his plans ahead of England’s next major tournament bout at the Euros.
Under Pep Guardiola this season, Walker has come into his own – earning a consistent starting place ahead of £60 million summer signing Joao Cancelo and could arguably make a case for being one of our players of the season.
Does Kyle Walker deserve the cold shoulder?
Yes
No
Despite our shifty defence this campaign, debatably the catalyst for our tame title defence after a treble-winning 2018/2019 season, Walker has debatably been an ever-present and reliable figure most of the time – highlighted by the fact he has played the second-most minutes behind Fernandinho at the back.
Now, with Southgate’s stance on the defender revealed, many Citizens have flocked in reaction to the news – with some stating the punishment is deserved while others claim it was a bit harsh.

Serves him right. Pep will be rightly fuming too when they get back. Could have thrown his career away and it’s deserved frankly

I feel bad for him but at the same time, actions have consequences.
