The Premier League have now announced the three youngsters who are in the running for the December 2017 Premier League 2 Player of the Month Award.

The three players shortlisted for this month’s award have been drawn up following PL2 Managers nominating the best individual performance from each of their opposing teams across the course of the month.

And given December’s action, the following find themselves on the shortlist.

The Premier League have some blurb on each of the nominations for this month.

Javairo Dilrosun (Manchester City)

The City winger, 19, shone despite his side suffering two PL2 defeats against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Marcus Tavernier (Middlesbrough)

The 18-year-old first-time nominee, who signed a new contract with the PL2 Division 2 leaders in December, impressed in his PL2 match against Norwich City, while he also made another Championship appearance just before Christmas against Sheffield Wednesday.

Donovan Wilson (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Wilson scored a hat-trick to help his side come from behind to defeat Southampton in PL2 and the 20-year-old also played in the PL Cup victory over AFC Bournemouth.

The eventual winner will be decided on January 15 by a panel of the Premier League Football Development Department.

August – Reiss Nelson (Arsenal)
September – Harry Wilson (Liverpool)
October – Declan Rice (West Ham)
November – Phil Foden (Manchester City)
