‘Once A Blue’ sent Vital Manchester City the following City v Hull player ratings.

MCFC

Shay Given 6 – The goalkeeper tried his best to prevent Bullard’s penalty but all was in vain. Other than that Shay couldn’t prevent anything else and it was a quiet afternoon for the stopper.

Micah Richards 6 – Impressed on his recall to the side. Made minimal errors and was stronger than before his break from the side. Needs to be smarter when reading the game.

Kolo Toure 6 – The skipper gave a harsh penalty away. Despite that poor decision Toure is building a better partnership with Lescott.

Joleon Lescott 7 – Much better from Lescott. After a good game last week, Lescott needed to continue to progress and show some consistency, this time he did and was very key at the back.

Wayne Bridge 7 – Bridgey had come under some strong pressure after a poor performance against Burnley, however, the English defender was just as strong defensively as offensively.

Nigel De Jong 7 – Another impressive performance, DJ can’t be left out he is imperative to the club`s success and is a consistently good performer.

Shaun Wright-Phillips 7 – The winger provided some good bursts of energy. Scored a good goal and nearly finished off goal of the season.

Stephen Ireland 7 – Superman is starting to understand his role as a central midfielder and is breaking up play just as well as creating chances. Prefer Superman as an attacking midfielder though in the future with another central midfielder in his role.

Carlos Tevez 6 – Battled superbly again, never shy of a tackle, has bags of energy and is very enthusiastic in all he does. Needs more end product though to be a prolific striker.

Robinho 7 – Played very well on his return to action and looked to create everything. Only down side was lack of chances he had and the constant slowing of the pace.

Emmanuel Adebayor 5 – Very poor, offered very little upfront and didn’t like the physical battle he was part of. Really needs to pull his finger out to succeed at the club.
