One of the things I would like to see on Saturday at Turf Moor, (apart from watching City claim all three points) is for the match referee, Martin Atkinson to allow both sets of players to play a free flowing and passing game and not to copy the likes of fellow professional match officials, the likes of Robert Madley, Lee Mason, Jonathan Moss etc. and do nothing / turn a blind eye when players are clearly and maliciously assaulted, oops, tackled!

A fair and level playing field, right?

Rant over.

Martin Atkinson – season 2017/18

The self-confessed Leeds United supporter, who celebrates his 47th birthday in March has so far this season officiated 20 domestic matches, during which the Yorkshire born referee has brandished 67 yellow and 4 red cards.

Games involving Manchester City (2017/18)

Premier League
Saturday 30 September 2017
Chelsea 0-1 City

Mr Atkinson’s only game involving City this season is when Fernandinho and Otamendi went into his naughty book. NO Chelsea player received a caution or advised reference their behaviour. No surprise there then.

Play the game Martin and in doing so show us Blues how refereeing should be done.

Come on CITY!
