Lukas Nmecha has a number of suitors this summer after impressing while out on loan last season and Jornal de Notícias (h/t Sport Witness) say FC Porto are one of them.
The 22-year-old was loaned out to RSC Anderlecht in 2020/21 and ended up scoring 21 goals with three assists in 41 games, so he’s now on the radar for a lot of sides in Europe.
Nmecha has risen through the youth ranks to the fringes of City’s first-team, scoring 15 goals with three assists in 16 games for the U18s, scoring eight goals with one assist in 14 games for the U19s and scoring 27 goals with four assists in 35 games for the U23s.
He’s made only three appearances at senior level for City but has made a name for himself out on loan. The German U21 international, who represented England at youth level in his pass, has spent time at Preston North End (August 2018 – May 2019), Vfl Wolfsburg (August 2019 – January 2020), Middlesbrough (January 2020 – July 2020) and Anderlecht (August 2020 – June 2021).
Nmecha has a slim chance of being promoted to the City first-team despite Gabriel Jesus being the only striker Pep Guardiola has. Jornal de Notícias say he’s got a £12m asking price, so he’s more than affordable.
