English Premier League referee, Howard Webb has been chosen to officiate the World Cup final between Holland and Spain in Johannesburg on Sunday.
Former Police Officer Webb, a FIFA-listed referee since 2005 was in charge of the 2010 Champions League Final in May of this year when Inter Milan beat Bayern Munich 2-0. His is England’s most experienced man-in-black having taken charge in numerous high calibre games.
Based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, Webb is the first Englishman to referee a World Cup final since Jack Taylor in 1974. His assistants on the most important day of his professional refereeing career are Michael Mullarkey and Darren Cann.
