Luis Suarez is someone we know all about in this country from his time with Liverpool and it was inevitable that he would return to England at some point and show his quality again, even if others were hogging the limelight leading into this game….
It’s unfortunate that it was against us that he reminded us all of what he’s all about!
Putting aside his biting we all know what a world-class footballer his is and Martin Demichelis has spoken to Sky Sports praising his quality with his two goals underlining this again – going into the game it was ‘Lionel Messi this’ and ‘Neymar that’ but Suarez was our tormentor, equally Demichelis knows that anyone one of them could undo us, or any other club.
‘Luis has already proved throughout his career what type of player he is and the quality he has
‘Football is like that, several days prior to the game, all the emphasis is placed on Messi and Neymar but the one who ends up scoring two goals is Luis Suarez. Barcelona have great players and any of them can make a difference.’
I think we’d all agree that to go into the second leg ‘just’ two-one down is something we will happily take as we looked like getting a battering at one point but that man Sergio Aguero again came up with something special and Joe Hart’s injury-time penalty save from Messi, with his amazing follow up miss, gives us hope.
It’ll take some effort but Demichelis has plenty of confidence that we can still turn this tie around.
