Another disappointing international break thankfully comes to an end and football purists can rejoice with the welcome return of the Premier League – Halleluiah.

My love for England will be with me until I draw my last breath but I am totally and utterly bored / fed up with watching a lacklustre Three Lions performance. (England v Montenegro match report). The good news is there are no more international breaks until 2011.

Manchester City return to league action on Sunday when the Blues visit Bloomfield Road for the first time since we drew 0-0 with the Seasiders during the 1998/99 season. Other Premier League fixtures to wet the whistle include a potential Merseyside relegation battle.
