Problems with manager – Man City player returning early after nightmare move

|

Nahuel Bustos revealed his loan move at Sao Paulo has been cut short, so he’ll return to Manchester City earlier than planned. He failed to make double digits for appearances after falling down the pecking order, resulting in him also spending more time on the bench.

The 24-year-old was just three months into a season-long loan in Brazil, but he struggled for playing time due to stiff competition from Jonathan Calleri and Luciano. Jorge Nicola (h/t Sport Witness) said Bustos fell out with manager Rogerio Ceni too, so he requested an early end to the move.

Bustos made only nine appearances from a possible 25 at Sao Paulo, amassing just 281 minutes of playing time from 2250. The Argentine striker was often an unused substitute or would be given cameo appearances in the second half of games, so he’s right to cut his losses.

There’s little chance Bustos will get into the City squad when the season resumes, so he’ll likely have to be loaned out again. Whether the 24-year-old will end up remains to be seen, but it might be a safe bet to pick a City Football Group side – New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama F. Marinos, Montevideo City Torque, Girona FC, Sichuan Jiuniu, Mumbai City FC, Lommel SK, Esperance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne (ESTAC), Palermo FC, Club Bolivar.
