Pundits Predict Manchester City vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

|

Brighton and Hove Albion’s recent Premier League record against Manchester City isn’t exactly easy on the eye, especially if you support the Seagulls.

Last season was the first set of league fixtures between the clubs since the 1988/89 campaign when City and Brighton were languishing in the old Division 2.

Pundits predict

BBC football expert Mark Lawrenson thinks the Blues will have a comfortable 3-0 win, while his guest of the week, comedian and TV presenter, Mark Pilkington has gone for a goal-fest, 4-1 in City’s favour.

Did you know?

Not that I’m going to lose any sleep, but Pilkington was a boyhood Manchester City fan but switched sides to United in the 1990s.

Lawro’s BBC column can be found here.

Merson predicts

The Sky Sports football pundit says…

“The problem with Man City is they’ve put themselves in a positon now where they’ve got a big Champions League game in midweek. If they had beaten Lyon at home, it’s a different game, but they’ve probably got to go to Hoffenheim and win now.

“He might rest a couple of players for this game. If he wasn’t resting anyone, I’d just see it as a big test going to Hoffenheim next week.”

Merson predicts MCFC will walk away with three points in the bag – 2-0.

My prediction

For what it’s worth, I think City, who scored five away at Cardiff City last weekend will score a similar amount. City 5-0 Brighton.
