Queens vs Kings

Queens Park Rangers face an uphill struggle as the Kings of Manchester come to town.

Neil Warnock will be hoping that his side can sustain the fine form at Loftus Road that his seen them go unbeaten in four and claimed the scalp of Chelsea along the way.

Although managing to record some impressive results in their return to the top flight, they have also had some equally disasterous ones – including a 6-0 thumping against Fulham.

Roberto Mancini will be well aware of QPR’s danger men and will be hoping that their attacking style will leave huge holes for his side to exploit as they have done so many times this season already.

All of the big sides should pick up points this weekend so it’s vital that City continue in the same vein and show no mercy.

Vital Quotes:

Roberto Mancini had a few words of warning ahead of his sides trip to London, stating: ‘They are a different team at home, a very strong team at home and we need to play very well if we want to win there.

‘We will try to attack but it’s not all down to us – there is always another team, and we need to play very well.

‘They also have some very good, experienced players and they beat Chelsea in their last home game, so they deserve respect and have made a very good start this season.

‘Loftus Road is a tight, compact ground and it will be hard if we are not at our very best.’

QPR Team News:

DJ Campbell, Shaun Derry, Rob Hulse and Akos Buzsak are all sidelined with respective injuries.

Better news for the Hoops is that Kieron Dyer and Adel Taarabt should be fit enough to play.

Player to watch: Shaun Wright-Phillips

The diminutive winger will forever be a son of City, but he will have no hesitation in putting them to the sword if he gets the chance.

His fantastic form in pre-season should serve as a reminder of his undoubted talent. Shaun has unfinished business in the Premier League and what better way to make a statement than against his former club.

Manchester City Team News:

David Silva is likely to be left out as a precaution following a back injury that saw him leave the field of play midweek. This could present another opportunity for Adam Johnson to prove that he has what it takes to make an impact over the entire 90mins.

An equally big blow sees Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany suspended following his sending off against Wolves.

Stefan Savic is likely to be the man to step into his giant shoes after a fine display against Villarreal midweek.

Player to watch: Edin Dzeko

After being left out in City’s crucial Champions League clash against Villarreal on Wednesday, the big Bosnian is likely to be reinstated into the starting eleven as he continues to impress with goals galore and fine hold-up play.

QPR don’t exactly have the best defensive record and Dzeko might just find himself bagging another hattrick if they don’t deal with him effectively.

Match Facts & Stats

Manchester City are leading the way in the goal scoring charts with more goals than any other team in Europe so far this season.

Match Prediction:

Given QPR’s impressive home form, they should be in no way underestimated, but it’s hard to see past City’s immense destructive power. Huge away wins at White Hart Lane and Old Trafford have shown that form means nothing when City come to town. They are going there to claim all three points and I can’t see them failing to do so. Without David Silva City have lost a hugely talented asset but there are a whole host of players ready to step up to the plate. I see an emphatic victory – QPR 0-4 Manchester City.
