Report: Man City consider £85.7m man with 31 goals as alternative to Harry Kane

|

Manchester City want to replace Sergio Aguero this summer but their pursuit of a striker has so far been fruitless and the transfer window shuts in just over a week’s time.

The Premier League champions have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, Totenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland among others, but Enzo Bucchioni of TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t Sport Witness) says Dušan Vlahović is now on their radar.

The 21-year-old joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018 and has gone on to make 85 appearances in all competitions, scoring 31 goals with four assists. Last season, Vlahović scored 21 times in 37 Serie A games, so it’s no surprise he’s on Man City’s radar.

Bucchioni  says the Serbian international is open to leaving Fiorentina, though the club are keen to keep him, but it will cost €100m (£85.7m). City don’t want to budge from €80m (£68.5m), however, so it remains to be seen if a deal will get over the line.

Pep Guardiola wants Vlahović at City and the Serie A striker wants to leave Fiorentina, but the Sky Blues need to agree a deal with the Violas.
