Report: Man City eyeing 17 y/o striker with 12 goals in 16 games at youth level

|

Manchester City bolstered their strikeforce in January with the signing of Julian Alvarez from River Plate and bolstered their strikeforce this summer with the signing of Erling Haaland, but Sport 1 (h/t Sport Witness) say Pep Guardiola is after another – Dzenan Pejcinovic.

The 17-year-old is a highly-rated striker who plays for FC Augsburg, having joined the club from Bayern Munich in 2017. He signed a three-year deal in 2019 and will be out of contract in the coming weeks. Pejcinovic looks to have a bright future as he’s been full of goals for club and country.

Pejcinovic scored two goals in two games for Germany’s U16s and has 16 goals in 13 games for their U17s. He’s bagged 12 goals in 21 games for Augsburg’s U17s and one goal in five games for their U19s. It’s easy to see why City are keen on the 17-year-old, but they aren’t the only side interested.

The German striker has interest from AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen, so there could be a battle for his signature this summer. Time will tell where he ends up if he does leave Augsburg.
