Report: Man City eyeing £70m man, 21 y/o more attainable than Haaland but wants Juventus

|

Manchester City released Sergio Aguero over the summer and got over their failure to sign Harry Kane by rotating between Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Gabriel Jesus at centre-forward, but the Sky Blues are expected to sign a striker at the end of the season.

Erling Haaland is their No.1 target but La Repubblica (h/t Get Football News Italy) say Dusan Vlahovic is an alternative. The 21-year-old has been nearly as prolific as the former in the last 18 months and could be available for £70m. He doesn’t have the same suitors as Haaland, so Vlahovic might be more attainable for City.

He joined Fiorentina on a five-year deal from Partizan in 2018 and has made 100 appearances in all competitions, scoring 43 goals with six assists. The Serbian international, who has seven goals in 14 caps, scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A games last season and has 12 goals in 15 Serie A games now.

Vlahovic would improve City’s attack, but La Repubblica say he’d prefer to join Juventus over the Sky Blues. The 21-year-old has interest from Arsenal but has no desire to be a part of their project. Time will tell if City make an official bid and if Vlahovic is open to coming to England.
