Report: Man City interested in 15 y/o wonderkid

|

Manchester City aren’t short of goalkeepers with Ederson, Zach Steffan and Scott Carson at their disposal, but Pep Guardiola appears to be planning for the future if Scott Burns’ report in the Daily Record is anything to go by.

City are battling Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur for Celtic goalkeeper Rory Mahady who is regarded as one of the best young shot-stoppers in Britain.

The 15-year-old will be eligible to sign a professional contract when he turns 16 in August and Celtic will be entitled to compensation, but City could land themselves a bargain if Mahady comes to the Etihad Stadium.

He’s regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe and could soon be training at one of the biggest clubs in England, so the future is bright for Mahady.

The 15-year-old would likely spend a couple of years in City’s U18s before being in a position to get first-team experience, but Guardiola isn’t a bad coach to develop under.

He handed minutes to four of City’s 18-year-olds and six of their 19-year-olds this season, so Mahady could be convinced that Manchester is the best place for his career.
