Report: Man City ‘interested’ in 23 y/o with more chances and dribbles than Mahrez and Sterling

|

Manchester City have Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Bernardo Silva at their disposal, but Fichajes say they’re after another inside forward – Christopher Nkunku.

The 23-year-old joined RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and has gone on to make 91 appearances in all competitions, scoring 16 goals with 28 assists.

His future at the Red Bull Arena is uncertain, however, as PSG, Bayern Munich and City are all showing an interest and could battle it out for his signature.

Nkunku had a hand in 20 goals from 32 Bundesliga games in his debut season at Leipzig and had a hand in 13 goals from 28 Bundesliga games in his second season.

The former French U21 international has four goals and one assist from seven games in all competitions this campaign, so it’s easy to see why there’s interest.

Nkunku has created more chances in the Bundesliga (10) and had more successful dribbles (9) than Mahrez (6 chances, 6 dribbles) and Sterling (3 chances, 5 dribbles), so would be an improvement in the squad.

Whether the Premier League defending champions actually lodge an official bid remains to be seen, however.
