Report: Man City make enquiries for 23 y/o with five goals and five assists in 11 games

Manchester City have Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling who can operate out wide while Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva are playmaker options, but SportBILD (h/t Sport Witness) say they’re after a player who is adept in both roles – Christopher Nkunku.

The 23-year-old joined RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and has gone on to make 101 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals with 34 assists. Nkunku has been outstanding in the Bundesliga and finds himself on the radar of the Premier League defending champions as a result.

SportBILD also note that clubs in Italy and Spain are also interested, so City might have stiff competition to bring him to England.

Nkunku has made 17 appearances across the board this season, scoring 11 goals with seven assists. He’s scored five and created five in 11 Bundesliga games alone, so City would have a real goal threat on their hands if they managed to sign him.

The uncapped Frenchman was signed for £11.7m two years ago but is worth considerably more now. SportBILD say Leipzig want to add a lofty release clause to Nkunku due to all the increased interest, but the highest bidder will win the race for now.
