Report: Man City ‘try to snatch’ 21 y/o with five goals in four games who has ‘uncertain future’

Manchester City’s failure to sign Harry Kane led to Pep Guardiola using Ferran Torres as a makeshift striker while Gabriel Jesus remained a deputy, but Calciomercato say they have their eyes on another transfer target – Dusan Vlahovic.

City could ‘try to snatch’ the 21-year-old from Fiorentina as Vlahovic has an ‘uncertain future’. Juventus are showing an interest, but the Violas are determined to keep him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Fiorentina want to hand him a long-term deal to fend off suitors, but it remains to be seen if he’ll sign.

Vlahovic joined the Violas from Partizan Belgrade in 2018 and has gone on to make 88 appearances in all competitions, scoring 34 goals with four assists. He’s already bagged five goals in four games across the board this season.

The Serbian international’s existing deal is up in 2023, so Fiorentina will have to start thinking of the future if they don’t believe Vlahovic will extended his stay. It will be hard for the striker to turn down Juventus and Man City when his current club finished 14th in Serie A last season.

Vlahovic isn’t City’s No.1 alternative to Kane, however. The Premier League champions would prefer Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, so time will tell which player they end up with.
