Report: Man City must pay £100m to sign 25yo with more created chances than De Bruyne

Pep Guardiola has Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres at his disposal, but the Mirror say Manchester City are considering a move for Jack Grealish when the winter transfer window opens.

The 25-year-old has been in fantastic form for Aston Villa this season, but it remains to be seen if he’d be sold as he signed a long-term deal over the summer and isn’t likely to be offloaded midway through the campaign.

Grealish has made 13 appearances in all competitions in 2020/21, scoring six goals and supplying seven assists. He’s created 43 chances, made 37 successful dribbles and whipped in 39 crosses with 25.6% finding a teammate.

The England international has made more chances than Kevin De Bruyne (40), Riyad Mahrez (23) and Joao Cancelo (20), so he’d improve our squad. Grealish won’t come cheap, however, as the Mirror say his asking price is now £100m.

With the playmaker signing a five-year deal in September and performing well under Dean Smith, it’s hard to see a deal going through in January. We might have better luck making a move at the end of the season.
