Erling Haaland was rumoured to have a release clause that would allow him to join Real Madrid for a set fee in 2024, but Pep Guardiola denied there was any agreement in place.
Graeme Bailey of 90min says sources close to the club have confirmed that the 22-year-old ‘does have a release clause’ but the figure could be closer to €200m (£175.4m).

The clause doesn’t apply to Premier League clubs, however, so no title rival can capitalise. Only sides outside of the English top-flight can procure his signature.
Real tried to sign Haaland before he joined Manchester City, so they’re likely to return for the Norwegian international. They’ve stayed in profit for the third consecutive financial year since the Covid-19 pandemic but haven’t spent more than £70m on transfers since 2019/20, so it remains to be seen Real have the means to sign him.
Haaland has made 13 appearances in all competitions for City, scoring 20 goals with three assists. The 22-year-old is staking a claim as one of the best strikers in Europe, so he’s bound to be on the radar of the biggest sides in the continent. Whether his release clause is large enough to ward off interest remains to be seen, however.
