The VMC Forum members have been steadily compiling a summer transfer ‘linked with’ thread since shortly before the end of the last season with startling and often hilarious results…!

A decade or so on from City’s escape from the third tier of English football, Planet Blue has grown used to a relentless transfer window daily media parade of players that Roberto Mancini and previously Mark Hughes is supposed to be signing.

The hacks have been going into overdrive over the past five weeks in their bid to win website hits, sell papers and depending on which team they support, make mischief.

There are some interesting patterns emerging as to whom the football agents are talking to and whom and where from the hacks are dreaming up there ‘scoops.’

VMC will keep the list going over the coming weeks in a bid to see just how accurate the Street of Shame guru’s are!

To date, Manchester City have signed NONE of these players!

Roberto Mancini:

“We know the players who we are interested in. It is a small list of names, because I only want to bring in players who will improve the team.

“Of course we have various options and it is not easy and it is not always possible to do things quickly. We must be patient, and do the right things at the right time in the market. We know the value of the players we are interested in and will not be forced into paying more than we want to.

“I keep reading that I am going to sign lots of players in the summer and am also going to sell lots of players. This is not true, and I am surprised because people know that I already have a very strong squad at Manchester City.”
