Micah Richards has been arrested and bailed until April over an alledged assault outside a Hale nightclub…
The Manchester Evening News confirmed the situation and reported Mark Hughes’ statement over the matter.
‘We are very supportive of Micah. He went to the police station in a pre-arranged appointment. It is an on-going situation, we are aware of that and we are supportive of him.’
Hughes went on to reveal that Richards remains in contention for a start against Middlesborough on Saturday. The alledged assault is reported to have taken place early last Christmas Eve.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: “The man was arrested on suspicion of Section 47 assault.”
Richards has had by the high standards he has previously set, a poor season. This latest development will be the last thing he or his club needs at this stage of a tough season.
