Manchester City and Celtic have agreed a loan deal in principle for Patrick Roberts.

The 18 year old midfielder came into City from Fulham for a fee in the region of £12million but has only featured once this season in the Premier League as a substitute, but has had two further run outs in the Capital One Cup.

With talk of a loan to a Championship side and the weird fact Fulham would benefit to the tune of £5million, that appears not to be an issue with him going to Scotland.

The player is said to have travelled to Scotland now and with the deal all but done, he will undergo a medical ahead of what’s expected to be an 18 month loan move.

It should go through in time for him to feature in their League Cup semi final tie against Ross County and Hampden Park this weekend.

If all goes through he will be third player for the future out with the club following Jason Denayer and John Guidetti.
