Robinho Helps No-one With Latest Comments

Many of us half expected Robinho to readily start talking about his time at Manchester City to the hacks. The only surprise is that he’s already at it…

After scoring a goal in his Santos loan debut following his helicoptered karaoke arrival, the talented striker chose his moment to directly talk to Das Daily Mail about City manager Roberto Mancini’s approach to football, at the same time slating the European game.

‘Mancini has a different way of thinking. In Brazil, the coach respects the player’s characteristics. But in Europe, they are used to playing with two lines of four players and they don’t want to know what you can do. There, if you are a forward, the coach sends you on to the pitch just to run. You have to run and that’s it.’

Robinho is in danger of burning his European bridges as he nails his colours firmly to the Brazilian World Cup mast.

Judging by the pisspoor standard of defending he breached in his debut game, he’s going to have plenty of time to talk about his life under Mark Hughes and Mancio.

Here’s hoping he chooses to keep his trap shut, because he will win few admirers in the European game should he choose to follow this route.
