Rodri issues title warning- “We have the Premier League experience”

|

According to Manchester City midfielder Rodri who has been in sensational form so far this season for Pep Guardiola’s side, City are just focusing on their games ahead and not paying attention to anyone else around them.

“At the end, we have the Premier League experience, and we know that this [situation] is very normal. We know that there are still 18 games remaining and still a lot of points to play for. We know the level of the league and that every game is a final.” City have been behind in title races before, and know it is a marathon and not a sprint and the Blues have so much to play for.

“Maybe in another situation where the league is not that good, I would say ‘OK’, but the league is just there, and every game is a final. We just keep calm, try to go on our road and don’t look too much at our opponents. We will just focus on ourselves”, said the Spanish midfielder who has arguably been City’s Player of the Season.

“Trying to be consistent every three days, knowing you are going to be tired and there are going to be moments where you have to run, deal with the pressure, and suffer sometimes. This is the mentality of champions.” [via @ManCity]

Rodri may not have the captain’s armband, but the defensive midfielder leads by example on the pitch, and with two Premier League titles in his City career so far he is hungry to achieve more with Pep Guardiola’s side.
