Manchester City enjoyed a 5-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday evening and Kevin De Bruyne was one of many players who impressed at Molineux. The 30-year-old started alongside Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri in midfield and scored four goals as the Sky Blues ran riot in the Midlands.
De Bruyne’s opener came in the seventh minute with a low finish into the bottom corner, having been picked out by a Bernardo Silva through ball. His second goal was 10 minutes later and saw him get on the end of a rebounded effort from an attack he initially set up.
The Belgian international completed his hat-trick in the 24th minute with a brilliant effort from outside the box, curling a left-footed shot beyond Jose Sa. And his fourth goal was from close range after Phil Foden cut the ball back.
Nathan Allen of City Xtra gave De Bruyne a player rating of 10/10 and said he was ‘unbelievable’ against Wolves. Stuart Brennan of the Manchester Evening News gave the 30-year-old a player rating of 10/10, calling his performance ‘sensational’. Max Parsons of 90min opted for a player rating of 10/10 and said he was ‘outrageous’ on the night.
