So Blues, the Manchester City top man has spoken from Abu Dhabi again and once more, in line with the calm dignity we’ve seen our Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak address Planet Blue, he’s given us bags of reassurance.

Most notably commitment to the MCFC Academy and the Manchester people is cause for a big thumbs up.

The hysterical excitement of Manchester City takeover deal breaker Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim that we toe curled over this summer is now a distant memory. In it’s place, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has continued the policy of a rational, feet on the ground reality that will have hacks desperate for it all to go pear shaped at City seething in the London bars tonight.

The Statement, courtesy Manchester City Football Club reads as follows:

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan met today with Club Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Mark Hughes and Executive Chairman Garry Cook. The meeting was the first since a company (Abu Dhabi United Group) wholly owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour, purchased a 90% controlling stake in the English FA Premier League team.

The two hour meeting covered all aspects of the Club`s operations, both on and off the field. It followed the Club`s first Board Meeting under the new ownership that took place on Sunday.

Speaking after the meeting His Highness said: “I find that both Mark and Garry share an ambition for success and the enthusiasm and capability to deliver on that ambition. I`m delighted at the potential for both men to positively impact the evolution of Manchester City Football Club in its entirety.

‘I fully endorse the plans approved by the Manchester City board that Khaldoon, Mark and Garry shared with me tonight. They reflect our shared aim of seeing Manchester City Football Club evolve to become a significant force in the world of football. Importantly we see that evolution being on every level and borne out of a sustainable approach that has its foundations in the club’s academy; its fans and the relationship with the Manchester community.”

Speaking specifically on football matters His Highness stated that: “Mark shared with me his plans for how the team should be developed. His strategy is compelling and he has my absolute mandate to implement his plans to evolve this team in the right way over the short, medium and long terms.”

Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of Manchester City said that: “all parties found the meeting so useful that the intention is for the group to meet every few months.”
