Exiled Thai Prime Minister and former Manchester City owner, Thaksin Shinawatra has been found guilty of corruption and sentenced to two years in prison.
Dr Thaksin was found to have used political influence to help his wife purchase land from a state agency at a knockdown price. His wife has already been convicted of tax evasion and sentenced to three years in jail.
The couple fled to the UK in August, saying they would not get a fair trial.
A Thai spokesperson said…
‘We will do what ever it takes to extradite Thaksin Shinawatra from the United Kingdom so justice can be served.’
