Speculation that Manuel Pellegrini could leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season isn’t new is it! The pressure is certainly on the City manager but will time be called on his reign?

I honestly don’t know, I would say it ‘isn’t looking good for him’ and it wouldn’t be a surprise if we did part ways would it? Maybe I’m wrong though!

Reports today in the Mirror, which obviously makes it true, are saying that we’ve already ‘have drawn up a shortlist of successors’ for Pellegrini.

Among them are the usual suspects with Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti ‘sounded out’ with it also reported that the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager, among many others of course, would be receptive to the move, at least he is open to leaving the Bernabeu in the summer – then again that decision might be taken out of his own hands if the La Liga title and/or Champions League isn’t defended anyway….

Sky Sport Italia have gone as far as reporting that we are ‘involved in negotiations’ for him already.

Pep Guardiola is, and has been for sometime, the top target for the City job isn’t he? He’s on that so-called shortlist but isn’t likely to be leaving Bayern Munich anytime soon whereas another, Diego Simeone, has just signed a new contract with Atletico Madrid hence why Ancelotti has seen ‘attentions turned to him.’

We’ll be seeing plenty of reports in the weeks and months ahead wont we….
