Poor season from City? What poor season! A run of eight straight wins in all competitions leaves us on the brink of a club record and this run has seen us wipe out Chelsea’s Premier League lead.

Chelsea have the chance to extend this again tonight when they take on Stoke in the ‘Monday Night Football’ on Sky Sports but ahead of this David Silva tells the media that the pressure is very much on Jose Mourinho’s side at the moment….

It wasn’t long ago that Chelsea had an eight-point lead on us but we’ve clawed that back and are level with them, at least until the close of play today…. unless they slip up and lose this isn’t going to remain the case.

We’ve put pressure on Chelsea but ‘big teams’ can deal with this, even so as much as we look to them to drop more points our main priority is on what we do.

He said: ‘Big teams have to get used to this type of pressure, and we need to replicate it until the end of the season and win as many trophies as we can.

‘We were eight points behind Chelsea a few weeks ago and now we have the same number of points – at least until they play on Monday – so maybe we can put a bit of pressure on them but we will focus on ourselves and hope they drop some points.’

Silva, scorer of two goals in our three-nil win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, was happy to help fill in as a ‘makeshift’ striker at the weekend but most of all he was happy to get back among the goals after his injury.

His own personal focus being merely to ‘continue playing’ at the moment in whatever position selected….
