Six Nilgate: Reasons To Be Fearful?

Sports hacks throughout the ‘Street of Shame’ missed one glaring factor in their drooling over Chelski’s 6-0 tatering of City last weekend. City were not only totally unable to compete on the field.

At the bank too, in the ‘battle’ for top quality signings, it’s another massacre.

The 15 City players named in the team to play Chelsea cost a quarter of the money paid out by Mr. Abramovich for the 15 players that took us to the cleaners and back in disclosed transfer fees. We can begin to further understand why our young side, still learning, was hammered and really should have been hammered. If Chelski can maintain that level of performance against other sides who don’t turn up on the day, then we won’t be the only side to cop for a lashing.

For us to ever truly compete at the level of the likes of the rags and Chelski, Frank Shinawatra is going to have to put some serious wedge on the table. Does he have such resources?

As an aside to this snapshot survey, I have to ask whether or not Chelsea have an Academy and if so, what’s the point? It’s a shame, and symptomatic of Murdoch controlled English Football, that the hacks did not praise SGE for having the bottle to name 4 trainees in his young side and giving it a go against a team built on another planet. Do we want City to go the same way as Chelsea and give up on our brilliant Academy in the quest for our Holy Grail of a trophy?!

In conclusion, outside of the similarly financed and resourced rags, Chelsea’s players should be thrashing teams week in, week out and justifying their astronomical salaries. Frank Lampardly, anything less, and Chelsea’s fans are being short changed at those steep turnstiles.
