Manchester City enjoyed a 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain to book their place in the Champions League final and Ruben Dias was one of many players who impressed. Manchester Evening News gave him their highest rating of the night and called him a ‘warrior’.

The 23-year-old started alongside John Stones at centre-back and played his part in City keeping a clean sheet at the Etihad Stadium while stopping PSG registering a shot on target. Mauro Icardi didn’t even manage a shot at all and was substituted after an hour.

Against PSG, Dias played for 90 minutes, had 41 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 90.3% of his 31 passes, blocked three shots, made four clearances, gave away one foul, made one tackle and had one shot.

Over two legs, the Portuguese international has kept Neymar and Kylian Mbappe quiet and deserved acclaim from supporters. Dias has made 49 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.

Since joining from Benfica last summer, he’s been on the losing team only three times in 2020/21 and looks worth every penny.
