It came as no surprise to hear that David Sommeil is facing a three match ban for the attempted maiming of Tottenham’s Korean midfielder, Lee Young-Pyo.
What is perhaps surprising is Sommeil’s decision to appeal the ban by electing for a personal hearing. Sommeil will have his case heard on 10th January where it is widely expected that the ban will be rubber stamped, and rightly so.
