City go into the international break having shipped a few injuries during a hard fought contest with a strong Aston Villa…
Mark Hughes gave the latest injury rundown shortly after the game last night.
Midfield cage fighter Nigel De Jong will not be travelling with the Dutch squad to Australia after sustaining an ankle knock and City skipper Kolo Toure is also up on blocks for a similar injury.
Pablo Zabaleta pulled his hamstring during the closing stages of the game and the City gaffer already reckons he’ll be out for a fortnight.
It also transpires that Roque Santa Cruz copped for Craig Bellamy’s finger in his eye shortly after coming on as a second half substitute!
Zaba, Kolo and De Jong have all been in great form and it sounds as if they will have a big task on their hands to make the game at Wigan on Sunday, 18th October.
The City gaffer is likely to give chances to Micah Richards to reclaim his right back place and Stephen Ireland to build upon his impressive second half showing against Villa.
Meanwhile, following Michael Johnson’s steady reintegration, the classy Vincent Kompany is moving closer to a comeback with Nedum Onuoha not far behind so Sparky will not be short of options.
