Manchester City has made an approach for Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes, according to the Sunday Mail.

If you believe everything you read in the tabloids then club owner, Thaksin Shinawatra is ready to offer Hughes £3million a year to move to the City of Manchester Stadium.

The 44-year-old Welshman nicknamed ‘Sparky’ had an incredible playing career notably at Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and finally Blackburn Rovers before retiring in 2002.

In 1999, Hughes entered, for the first time into management when he took over as the Wales national team coach. Five years later, he resigned his post to become the boss at Ewood Park.

So far, neither club have made any comment.
