Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have put in an offer of £6m for Manchester City’s Craig Bellamy, while Everton are also said to be interested in securing the services of the Wales international.

If these reports have any substance why on earth does Roberto Mancini want to get rid?

Bellamy, who celebrates his 31st birthday on Tuesday 13 July completed his move to Manchester City on a four and a half-year deal for an undisclosed fee, (believed to be around £14 million) in January 2009 and ever since his arrival the pacey forward has done nothing but impress.

We all know Bellamy has a short fuse but that is exactly what drives the Welshman on. He’s committed to the cause and runs like a man possessed. If Bellamy does depart Eastlands this summer I for one will be sad to see him go.

Spurs fans

As ever, members from Vital Spurs are never short of something to say. The following is just a small sample…

pjones4 – Crouch out yes .Bellamy in NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Why are we going after Man City’s cast off’s when we should be competing with them. I know we don’t have the same money but we have more pull .We are in the CL qualifiers that must count.

magicmonkeyjuice – If we do get Bellamy (fed up arguing that he’s old, injury prone and a t*sser) let’s get rid of Pav, not Crouch. Crouch is a very useful weapon to have in my opinion, as a wiley old manager like Hodgson recognises. Pav just plays well when he can be bothered and in my eyes is a poor mans Berbatov.

RichmondSpur – With the money they have of course Citeh will be in for Barlotelli and Dzeko. How can their strikers ‘put us to shame’ when we have a better team and achieved our aim of CL footy when they didn’t? Bellamy would be an improvement on what we have up front. Harry knows what he’s doing!

oxfordspur – I think that 95% of the fans on here were claiming that Bellamy was shite 18 months ago, but who can argue that he has been excellent for City. As for him leaving there, it is common knowledge that the and Mancini don`t get on and also their egos seem to be getting the better of themselves and they are insisting on signing galacticos, which is a very expensive gamble in my opinion.

Real Deal – We won’t get more than two seasons out of him. He even said he only has around two left in him.
