Harold ‘wheeler dealer/media whore’ Redknapp’s Tottenham host Manchester City in what should be a tough test for the high-flying Citizens.

Spurs, currently languishing in the bowels of the table, will be hoping to kickstart their chaotic season by getting some decent points on the board. Modric rumours along with their paltry attacking line-up threaten to derail their top 4 ambitions this season.

Bringing in Adebayor on loan from City was either an exceptionally smart or stupid move by Bagpuss, but the lanky striker is ineligable to play against the Blues lster so we will have to wait until their next game to see how he fairs.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

As usual, the Spurs medical facilities are overflowing with injury prone stars. Palacios, Sandro, Gallas and King all miss out.

Player to watch: Luka Modric

The mercurial Croatian midfielder has been a revelation since joining Tottenham, a revelation which hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Big money offers have been flying in for the 2010 winner of the ‘ugly 12-year-old girl look-a-like of the year’ award. Chelsea have reportedy upped their offer to a staggering £40m and the game against City should give us an idea of where the unsettled star will end up.

Will this be his Nasri-esque swan song?

Manchester City Team News:

The only absentee for the Blues is tough tackling Dutch enforcer Nigel De Jong.

Player to watch: Edin Dzeko

Since joining from Wolfsburg last season, City fans have grown to love the big Bosnian, despite his slow start to the Premier League.

The faith payed off and Edin is becoming a firm fan favourite, dominating play up-front with his physical presence, exceptional hold-up ability and goals to boot.

If Dzeko can carry this form through to the end of the season, he could just be one of the best signings the club has ever made.

Match Facts & Stats

In City’s last three clashes with Spurs, Peter Crouch has scored the only goals. One-a-piece.

Let’s hope that double agent Crouch is on our side tonight.

Ref Watch:

Phil Dowd officiates at White Hart Lane.

Match Prediction:

I can see this being a cagey affair with niether team wanting to give their opponents an early season advantage.

While City are in the accendency, they have a tendency for caution against top 4 rivals – and rightly so.

A drab 0-0 is probably what we will get, but i’ll be a little more optomistic and suggest an entertaining 1-1 draw.
