Manchester City face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday night and Pep Guardiola has a decision to make on who to start on the left flank. Jack Grealish was given the nod in City’s 4-0 win over Sevilla and did okay, but the stats show Bernardo Silva is a great option too.

Silva has made eight appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals with two assists. Grealish has made four appearances in all competitions, failing to score or make an assist.
The 28-year-old has created 1.3 chances per game in the Premier League to Grealish’s 2.0 and has made 1.2 successful dribbles per game to Grealish’s 2.0.
Grealish has a better pass completion (92.4%) than Silva (89.6%) and averages more passes per game (46) than the Portuguese international (35.3) too. The 28-year-old has 0 shots on target to Silva’s 0.5 per game, however, so it’s easy to see why he’s not scoring.
Grealish hasn’t whipped in an accurate cross either, so he’s still not firing on all cylinders. The fact Silva has had a hand in four goals is likely to earn him a starting place on the left wing rather than centre-mid.
