Budding blogger, Blue Lad Scragg sent us the following…

Chelsea has confirmed the signing of teenage striker Daniel Sturridge on a four-year contract after turning down a take it or leave it Manchester City £55,000 a week offer.

As the youngster is under the age of 24 City are entitled to compensation with the fee being decided by a tribunal. Reports suggest Chelsea may have to pay up to £10m.

Youth Academy graduate was made a laughing stock by City fans when reports surfaced that he was demanding a ridiculous £75,000 a week. When regular player Elano earns a mere £35,000 I personally say good riddance to the money driven fool. It’s such a shame though as he was showing so much promise, but if he wants to leave and sit on a Stamford Bridge bench, then good luck and enjoy.

Sturridge made his full debut for City in 2007 against Reading scoring six times in 32 appearances.
