Manchester City have confirmed that we have arranged another pre season friendly for our 2015-16 build up, this time against German side VfB Stuttgart.

We will travel to Germany to compete in the friendly at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Saturday August 1 and the fixture will come a week ahead of our Premier League kick off as we look to get the title back from Chelsea.

Stuttgart are a very well known name in the Bundesliga but they had a troubling season in 2014-15, narrowly avoiding relegation from the top flight with a run of fine form in their final three games of the year.

Speaking to the Official Site as the friendly was announced, manager Manuel Pellegrini said despite that he was looking forward to what would be a very difficult test for us – but good preparation for the opener against West Bromwich Albion on August 10.

‘Vfb Stuttgart will provide a stern test at a crucial time in our pre-season preparations. The Mercedes-Benz Arena is an outstanding football venue and one that we are thoroughly looking forward to visiting. The closer we get to that first game of the season, the more focused our players will be on being included on that first day of the Premier League season and so fans can expect a great contest.’

The fixture will form part of our hosts annual open day activities so it should be a good atmosphere and day for any travelling fans.
