The European continent’s newswires are alive with reports that Inter Milan’s powerhouse striker Mario Balotelli is almost certain To Be Blue…

From L’Equipe and La Parisien in France to Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sports Italia in Italy, the story goes that the player’s agent alongside his lawyer and The Citizens own lawyers are thrashing out the giant striker’s salary in town following confirmation from Internazionale President Massimo Moratti earlier this week that ‘Super Mario’ will be off to the airport shortly now that a fee of around £25 million has been agreed between the San Siro and Eastlandso clubs.

Moratti:

‘Everyone is right about Balotelli: he is a talent, who, in my opinion, has yet to express himself 100 per cent. But this talent, in this moment, doesn’t seem so indispensable…we have important offers and objectives of an economic character, so you make a sacrifice with the player who everyone wants.’

Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that 6ft 3in Balotelli who turns 20 next month and has bagged 20 odd senior goals for Inter to date, was the subject of a surprise farewell party in Milan at the Van Gogh CafĂ© last Sunday evening which was thrown by his friends. Gazzetta hacks were lurking and report that Balotelli declared ‘I am leaving for Manchester City.’

It could well be that the brilliant but unpredictable lad whom Roberto Mancini gave his league debut to is soon to come of age under Mancio in East Manchester.
